Blindfolded Forward

We humans love to act like we can see ahead. We circle dates on calendars, book vacations six months out, and say things like, “I can’t wait till Friday.” But truth be told, you and I can’t “look forward” at all — not really.
We can only look back. Because only the past is visible. The future? That’s uncharted territory, wrapped in fog, guarded by God’s “No Trespassing” sign. You don’t get binoculars into tomorrow — only a promise that Someone’s already there.
Think about it: when you say, “I look forward to my birthday,” you’re not seeing it — you’re believing it. Faith and hope are the lenses that let you peer into what hasn’t happened yet.
You’re not viewing — you’re trusting.
And trust looks funny on us. We fumble like kids trying to walk blindfolded, hands stretched out, waiting for a voice to say, “Keep coming — you’re almost there.”
That’s what “looking forward” really is:
Faith walking with a grin.
A confident step on an invisible staircase.
A child reaching for the Father’s hand in the dark.
God’s the only one who truly sees tomorrow — He’s already unpacked it.
He’s the Alpha and the Omega, meaning He started your story and He’s already read the last page. You’re still in the middle chapters thinking, “What’s next?”
He’s smiling, whispering, “Don’t peek — just walk.”
So next time you catch yourself saying, “I’m looking forward to it,”
remember — you’re not seeing ahead, you’re leaning ahead.
You’re trusting the Author to turn the next page at just the right time.
Because for those who walk with Jesus, every step forward is a faith step,
and every faith step — even blindfolded — lands in His light.
